Detail on a 19th Century Jezail

Via Flickr:This is a recent addition the stock.

With our interest in action on the North West Frontier this seemed like a natural extension to our items for sale. In other words I could’t resist buying on after reading so much about our “butcher and bolt” reputation.  It is quite an extraordinary piece of equipment. It all looks very crude however the reported accuracy is renowned.

It would have been good to get the stand as well.

Any feedback would be welcome. Could this have been used at the attack on the Malakand Fort or Chakhdara Fort, against the Malakand Field Force, against  the Defence of Chitral, against Sir Bindon Blood‘s Relief of Chitral column, Waziristan, Samana or on the North West Frontier and Tirah campaigns? Is it earlier or later than that?
