4421 Private Charles Mitchell, born Dundee, 1874; enlisted in the Gordon Highlanders, August 1892;

Served with the Regiment in India, 1894-99, and took part in the Chitral Relief Expedition, 1895, and during operations on the North West Frontier of India as part of the Tirah Expedition, 1897-98, where the Regiment distinguished themselves at Dargai (Medal with three clasps); served with the Regiment in South Africa, September 1899 to September 1902;

Discharged, 13.8.1906, after 14 years and 2 days with the Colours
