We have uploaded many many hundrs of photographs on to this flickr site.
The photographs feature the days of the transition from Gurkha Army Service Coprs to Gurkha Transport Regiment. Locations range mainly from Batu Pahat, Malaya to Nee Soon Garrison to Whitfield Barracks Hong Kong.
There are many photographs of wives and families of the Regiment and it is very pleasing to note the we have already had contact from children of individuals featured.
I hope you get some pleasure or historical refernce from these photos.
Contribution below from Mike Thorp (standing far left) – Thanks Mike
The above photograph was taken at Batu Pahat, Johore State, Malaya in 1960. The building in the background was the British Officers’ Mess of 28 Company Gurkha Army Service Corps (MT). This was some years before the Regiment was renamed The Gurkha Transport Regiment.
The British Officers in the rear rank are (from left to right): 2/Lt Mike Thorp, Lt Bob Tannock, Lt Roland Faye, Capt Bill Godwin, a REME officer (name unknown) and Lt Tom Ridgeway.
