This one is dated 15th March 1873 with the caption The Sailor’s Champion

The subject is Samuel Plimsoll , a renowned Shipping influence of the Victorian Era.

The man who gave his name to the Plimsoll Line.

This print was, like many of the early caricatures, unsigned.
