World War One Memorial Plaque to Ernest Norris

Via Flickr:First World War Dead Man’s Penny to Ernest Norris. The Dead Mans Penny is also know as a Memorial Plaque or Death Plaque.

There are 4 entries for Ernest Norris on the excellent Commonwealth War Graves Commission site.

1)  NORRIS, ERNEST, Private, service number 31333 Died on the 27/08/1918 aged 20. He served in the Royal Berkshire Regiment. Buried at the BERNAFAY WOOD BRITISH CEMETERY, MONTAUBAN

2) NORRIS, ERNEST, Lance Serjeant, service number 7182. Died on the 20/09/1917.  He served in the Wiltshire Regiment. Commemorated on the TYNE COT MEMORIAL

3) NORRIS, ERNEST, Rifleman, service number 1650. Died on the 08/05/1915. Served in the London Regiment (The Rangers).  Commemorated on Panel 54. YPRES (MENIN GATE) MEMORIAL

4) NORRIS, ERNEST, Private, service number 70091. Died on 30/06/1918 aged 19. He served in The Queen‘s (Royal West Surrey Regiment). Commemorated on Panel 14 and 15. POZIERES MEMORIAL
