Via Flickr:World War One Medal Trio to 14355 Pte F Mitchell R W Fus Trio and Death Plaque.

He served in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Fred Mitchell entered France 5th Spetember 1915. He was killed in Action 18th April 1918. Buried at Tyne Cot. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission website will give good detail of the Tyne Cot Memorial. He is from Gwaun-cae-Gurwen, Glamorgan.

Also – Trio to 1728 Pte D Mitchell. Brecknock Battalion, South Wales Borderers. David Mitchell served in the Asiatic, entering in 3rd July 1915. A small photograph is with this lot.

A WWI Trio consists of:

1) A Star which will be either a 1914 Star which is also known as a Mons Star or a 1915 Star

2) A British War Medal

3) A Victory Medal, also known as a Victory for Civilisation Medal.
